The European Parliament has been working to restore two pieces of the Berlin Wall close to the EP campus in Brussels. The original segments, currently located in Park Leopold and on Rue Wiertz, have been restored and enclosed in a protective casing. They will stand next to the visitors entrance of the Hemicycle in Brussels as a reminder of Europe’s recent divided past, and serve as a symbol of the importance of unity over division. The project has been realised in collaboration with the owners of the pieces: the Belgian State and Brussels Capital Region. Learn more.
